Sky King, for those of you born after about 1958, was a tv series about a pilot on the Flying King Ranch in Texas, He had a neice named Penny, and an airplane called the Song Bird. He was Superman without a cape. He was probably the first person I ever heard say "over and out" because he talked on a radio in his plane. (Brodrick Crawford was probably the second in "Stories of the Highway Patrol" sometime later.)

Sky King akin to Superman...SOLD!!
Sounds kind of like Sky Captain without the big robots and dinosaurs.
I remember Sky King quite well, and thanks a lot. I feel even older now.
