Happy Birthday to me!

I blog, therefore I am.

I continue to write for a small, yet select audience. Having made it thru January, we enter February with great anticipation and glee! 'Tis the birthday month! I have passed the speed limit and approach three score!. This will be 58 and I am comfortable with the knowledge that I am on the right side of the grass. Everything else is gravy!

The world of business seems to be too much of my world. We came thru great tribulation in the first half of this year at Dixie General and came to think we were invincible. Success comes with a price. It is a very precarious perch that you sit on when you have responsibility for a multimillion dollar company and the associated employees. You would think that such volume would cure a world of problems rather than bring you a whole new world of different problems. We live and learn. I simply need to learn to use the talents of those around me to better advantage.

I have taken on a small group at church this quarter called "business sense". It is a group of folks who are either in business for themselves or want to be in business for themselves later. We discuss the problems and joys of working for yourself. So far we have covered credit cards, marketing, government interference and employees. Next week we have a banker from a private bank coming to talk to us. Everyone seems to be getting something out of it and enjoying the fellowship.

I don't feel like getting very deep today, so I am going to close for now. How about some communication out there?
